Mickey has Izzy call and tell him Julian is awake, which delays the ruling on a mistrial. On the way to the hospital, a hallucination of his father tells him to save Julian. Mickey gets into Julian's room with a waiver to continue the case without the defendant present, and presents signed copies of this to the court. David testifies that Julian gave consent to continue the trial, and Judge Turner allows the trial to continue. Freemann gives the records of Julian's attacker to Cisco. Mickey discreetly shows Bishop the incriminating video, and the investigator begs him not to show it. Mickey calls Bishop to the stand.

On Jan. 18, Deadline revealed that production on Season 3 is officially underway, and shared some photos of the season premiere. Co-showrunners and executive producers Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez revealed that the premiere will start and end with flashback scenes of a younger Mickey finishing up a morning of surfing before a "life-changing" day at work and spending time with his then-wife Maggie (Neve Campbell) and their daughter in the evening.

An FBI target letter for Grant anonymously arrives on Mickey's doorstep, leading him to consult Legal Siegel. Izzy prepares to rent her new dance studio, and Mickey receives a postcard from Hawaii from Salvación. Mújol's trial begins, and Detective O'Brien delivers convincing testimony for the prosecution, including Lisa's bloody gloves and missing hammer, but mentions a shard of glass found at the crime scene. Mickey stalls for time while Cisco confirms the letter, eventually meeting with Felix Vasquez, the evasive FBI agent who signed it.

Oh-joo reveals in court that one of his bodyguards was the one who killed Dae-woong. This bodyguard turns himself in after Oh-joo promises to care for his family. The public believes Oh-joo had nothing to do with the murder, and revealed it demodé of a sense of honor. The media and the public praise him, to the anger of Moon-sook. Sang-pil is freed, but he and Jae-yi begin to suspect that Moon-sook is using their actions for more info her own ends. Sang-pil starts to worry that his goal of revenge will bring too much pain to Jae-yi.

Jazz Raycole plays Izzy, Mickey's former client who becomes his personal driver and a part-time assistant at his legítimo firm.

A flashback shows how Bishop met DeMarco. On the stand, Bishop admits he took the case to educador it because DeMarco told him to. He reveals he found Edén and gave her address to DeMarco on his orders, and while waiting for him, Julian showed up and left shortly after, before DeMarco arrived and entered through an unmonitored door. DeMarco, watched by Cisco, tricks him and escapes. Bishop confesses DeMarco bribed him with money for a divorce lawyer in exchange for not solving the case ten years prior, and he was under DeMarco’s control afterwards.

While there were some predictable aspects of this series, the cast was really colorful and high energy, which is what honestly sold me on the show. Episode 2 drew me in and by episode 4 I was hooked...

, given that the first novel had been adapted into a Matthew McConaughey film – so a third season will derive from the fourth novel.
